Children are often initially confused by who santoe actually is. Some presume he is Santa but as he explains, “Santa wears red, has a beard, is much older and is not as good looking!!”. Santoe goes on to say why so many people get him mixed up with the “Main Man” for as many differences that exist between them, there are just as many similarities. Both he and santa buy their clothes from the same taylor, and also have their hair cut at the same hairdressers. Of course, the real reason why Santoe looks similar to Santa is that Santoe is Santa’s nephew.

Santoe explains this to the children he visits in a very easy to understand sort of way. Most children do not properly understand what “Nephew” actually means so usually things become clearer when children are explained that Santa has a Sister and that that Sister is also Santoe’s Mummy. Somehow the penny eventually drops and the children are given an authentic account of where Santa lives, what he does all day long and all about his preparations for Christmas Eve. The Children are obviously excited with such an authentic first hand report of the real life Santa.
